Delhi International Airport Limited (DIAL) has partnered with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and Air India (India's leading international airline), to make it easier for international passengers to check-in at two select metro stations in Delhi, the National Capital of India.
To provide better convenience DIAL has introduced a "Check-in & Baggage-Drop" service for Air India passengers, streamlining the process by reducing the wait times for overseas passengers at the airport.
This service is already available for domestic passengers, but a milestone decision has been extended to international travellers, providing a greater travel experience at DEL.
The latest “Check-In & Bag Drop" facility for overseas passengers allows them to check-in their luggage at the DMRC's New Delhi and Shivaji Stadium metro stations, offering a much-desired opportunity to explore the city without lugging around their bags. Meanwhile, their bags are safely loaded onto the aircraft by an advanced, automated infrastructure developed by DIAL.
The service will remain operational at the two metro stations from 0700 hrs to 2100 hrs. The check-ins can be done between 12 hours and 2 hours prior to flight departure for domestic itineraries and between 4 hours to 2 hours for international schedules.
Delhi Airport already provides the “Check-in & Bag Drop” facility to domestic passengers flying with Air India and Vistara and now has expanded the service, to Air India International passengers.
With the "Check-in & Baggage Drop facility" at metro stations, global travellers can now reduce the time spent in airport queues and eliminate the stress of carrying luggage through the city. Here are the steps you need to follow:
Step 1: Conveniently drop your check-in baggage at the Metro Station counter
Step 2: Get an instant boarding pass
Step 3: Reach Delhi Airport (T3) in 19 minutes via the Airport Express Line
New Delhi Metro Station: Airline check-in counters are available at concourse level.
Shivaji Stadium Metro Station: Airline check-in counters are available adjacent to VFS Global Office at concourse level.
Delhi Metro makes every journey quicker and more convenient. The frequency of metro is every 10 minutes, and it takes 19 minutes to reach the departure level at Delhi Airport Terminal 3.
Always keeping the convenience of travellers as their top priority, Delhi Airport has once again made exploration easier for passengers.
Over the years, New Delhi Airport has implemented numerous initiatives aimed at simplifying the travel experience for its passengers. Initiatives such as Park N Fly Service, providing transit hotel, and the "Check-In & Baggage Drop" facility add to the range of solutions it offers to its passengers.
Combined with other tech innovations like DigiYatra and Self-Bag Drop machines, this initiative exemplifies Delhi Airport's commitment to a seamless travel experience.
